Painting

 Painting #1
 Painting #2
Painting #3

Just because I was in a painting mood (and I love to share the love), we decided on a theme and painted dragons together a couple of weekends ago.  These are watercolor on canvas from the craft store, and they will be displayed in the basement play space.  The boys worked really hard on them, and I love how each one is so unique.  Any guesses on who did what?

Facebook pics do give it away. Top is Zay. Everything he colors at kindergarten includes a rainbow with the colors in the correct order (if he has time- it takes him f.o.r.e.v.e.r). Middle is Micah. The brightness of the colors kind of surprised me, but Micah always paints and colors in reality. Skies are blue. Scales are green. Eyes are red. That's the way it is. Elijah is on the bottom. He frequently uses dark colors... drama. There is always action in his drawing- never just one character staring blankly. Someone is always doing something in his pictures. AND he loves detail. Watercolor is not the best for him because he gets frustrated when he can't show the detail that he wants.

Simile Metaphor Collection

Elijah after running: My heart is beating like a coconut rolling down a hill.
Elijah on urination: Pee is like horses galloping out of the gate. Once they get started you just can't stop them.
Elijah: If school were a human I'd give it a wedgie.
Elijah: I am like a hot rod and I just want to be a plain old Ford
Elijah on the fruits of the spirit: I've got them all covered except self-control. Its like a tiny green tomato and the rest are all big ripe ones. Especially love. Its like the biggest tomato we saw in the garden tonight.
